About me and my work with paper

Paper has always fascinated me. Whether drawing, painting, cutting, or embossing, this material has captivated me in countless ways and continually inspires new forms of expression.

Ancient mythology, which has accompanied me since my youth, is a constant presence in my work. I reinterpret classical sculptures in paper—sometimes figuratively, sometimes abstractly. Through the two-dimensionality of the material, something new emerges, transforming familiar shapes into something surprising.

More recently, I’ve discovered stone paper, which offers an intriguing new surface to work with. Its smooth, white surface may seem plain at first glance, but light and shadow—and the way one moves around it—bring its subtle reliefs to life. Almost invisible at first, they gradually reveal themselves with every shift in perspective.

My works invite the viewer to look closer, to rediscover the beauty of paper, line, light, and movement—and to see with fresh eyes.

In my artistic work, I often create small-format pieces made of wood and paper – quiet objects that seem to withdraw from the light. On small wooden blocks rests a black so deep it reflects hardly any light, sometimes none at all.

Across this surface, the finest paper lines are stretched or woven, almost floating. These delicate structures stand in stark contrast to the density of the black. It’s a dialogue between material and emptiness, between weight and lightness, between the visible and the almost invisible.

These works invite close observation – or rather: quiet contemplation.
