Nazan UZUNGÜL KÖSE

I was born in Ardahan in 1964. I completed my primary, secondary, and high school education in Ardahan, and my higher education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Ankara University.

I began my career in education as an elementary school teacher in 1993, continuing to work as a teacher and administrator in schools in various provinces, districts, villages, and towns across the country. Most recently, I was working as a guidance teacher in the town of Varsak, Kepez district, Antalya province, when I retired at my own request in 2017. After retiring, I enrolled as an undergraduate student in the Traditional Arts Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Akdeniz University. At the same time, I completed my master's degree in Program Development in Education at the Institute of Educational Sciences at Hacettepe University.

Participating in social and cultural events; taking part in workshops at national and regional festivals; visiting special historical and natural sites; reading, writing stories, painting, and engaging in music;  creating sculptures from paper, paper pulp, and various waste materials; caring for the environment and nature; engaging in various activities related to healthy eating, etc. I am married and have one child.

I continue my artistic work on a personal level and independently under the name “Environmentally Friendly Sculptures.” My works can be found at the instagram address nazanhuseyinheykel. You can also reach me through my personal page called Nazan Sanat.

Since 2005, I have been participating in mixed and personal painting and sculpture exhibitions. I have written two children's novels, “Unusual Vacation” and “The Magical City of Lyrboton Kome,” and a collection of short stories titled “Gas Money, Salt Money.”

My works have been exhibited in various mixed painting and sculpture exhibitions in the provinces of Artvin, Yalova, and Antalya. I have participated in national and international painting and sculpture workshops, and my works have been featured in their exhibitions. I am a member of the Artvin Culture and Arts Masters (AKSU) Association and the Antalya Artists Association (ANSAN).

I strive to support the struggle for a more livable environment and nature for all living beings through art. In this context, I take care to use clean waste materials in my work and continue my efforts to transform waste and discarded materials (paper, wood, metal, fabric, stone, etc.) into art products...
