Art is my voice – a voice that comes from the power that moves people to think, act or react to it. I create my works to please myself and to explore the release of my thoughts and emotions.
I specialize in the creation of artist-made paper that is produced from 100% first cut cotton linter. It is hand-dyed with fibre reactive, water-based pigments that were beaten and individually formed with my handmade papermaker’s mould and deckle. Pearlescent pigments are added to emphasize texture and dimension.
I have been a papermaker for the last eighteen years, focusing on the sculptural approach to his medium. My work has been acknowledged by national and international organizations and has exhibited globally, including Canada, Switzerland and the United States.
I am an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the Ontario Society of Artists and my work has been recognized by the International Association of Hand Papermaker’s and have received numerous awards for my work.
The simplicity, elegance and motion of paper draw me to this medium.
