Kristveig Halldórsdóttir (b. 1964) studied textile art at the Icelandic College of Art and Crafs, went on to graduate studies at the University of Applied Arts in Oslo and completed a master's degree in textile art. She has held solo exhibitions and participated in a number of group exhibitions at home and abroad.
In her master's program, she specifically researched the making of handmade paper from different plant fibers, which lays an important conceptual foundation for her work. During her master's degree in Norway, she took a course at Carrige House of Paper, a paper workshop in Brooklyn, New York, which greatly influenced her work. Kristveig has had a long-standing relationship with IAMPA, the international association of paper artists and paper makers. This year,2024, Kristveig completed additional studies in Practical Cultural Media and made there the documentary "Hvítar arkir" about handmade paper.
