My work is with Hanji, a traditional Korean paper, that is used to make a variety of household items. I design and cut shapes for furniture as well as household items out of cardboard. The cardboard structures are then covered in handmade paper and I use various methods to decorate each item, from cutting out paper designs to printing my own photographs onto the paper.
I've been working in this medium for around 20 years and make regular trips to Korea to update my skills and learn new techniques. Hanji is little known outside of Korea and I'd like to share my passion for this craft by introducing it to a more global market.
