In this new proposal by Roxana Yanovsky Dee-Dee, Hilván 2025, the artist formulates an intercultural dialogue between the contemporary and the ancestral, the local and the extraterritorial, and between the artists themselves.
In her own words, ‘I spin in order not to forget that memory is built with the successive passing of transits over the traces already travelled’.
Under this new premise, the artist seeks, through stitching, embroidery and tapestry, to make interpretations of imaginary photos; registers to be knotted with the memories of those who wish to continue with the gaps already marked.
Linked points of memory, threads of millenary paper and fragments of vegetable pulp aligned to receive art with codes of dots, lines, figures and paper forms that invite dialogue between artists who perhaps did not converse during their trajectory; which, as a whole, constitute the historical scenario in which this proposal makes sense.
The Hilván 2025 Project is made up of a series of 24 pieces of Thai Kozo paper acquired from the @kozostudio shop that lands for the first time in Argentina through a respectful international dialogue.
The pieces of white or black openwork paper forming alternating empty squares of 2cm on each side are interpellated by white, black or primary coloured lines of 1.5cm wide by 0.90cm long.
The proposed conversation refers to the exchange of possible imagined ideas between Kasimir Malevich (the square, the basic Suprematist element) and Piet Mondrian (the lines, the primary colours).
