I live in northern Sweden in a town called Sundsvall. The city is surrounded by high mountains and beautiful nature, next to the Baltic Sea. It has one of Sweden's most beautiful stone houses, which was created after the great fire in 1888. Its decorated stone facades and old Swedish folklore inspire my illustrations and paper cuttings.
My technique is papercutting, or the Japanese name Kirie, and I cut out my illustrations with a scalpel.
I sketch my motifs on the back of a piece of paper and after I have finished cutting my picture I turn the paper over, thus getting a front page clean of pencil lines.
In a way, you could say, I tell fairy tales with paper and a knife.
