I received my BFA in Fiber from the Kansas City Art Institute & my MFA from Indiana State University for apprenticing at Twinrocker Handmade Paper. I've been a papermaker 43 years. I founded Kansas City Paperworks, Inc in 1983 & have made paper for many artists, companies, and book artists. I have taught full-time college Fiber & Papermaking since 1985. I primarily use Kozo in my work. I draw with it, using techniques I learned during research in San Pablito, Mexico & Naha, in Chiapas, Mexico. I also combine my Kozo works, reliefs & sculptural pieces with Encaustic Wax. My publications include "Drawing with Mulberry", Hand Papermaking, Summer issue, 2000. "Lacandon Bark Cloth: Hu'un", Hand Papermaking, Winter issue, 2004. My work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
