My handmade paper integrates creative practice, working with fibre-based materials, influenced by the scholarly and cultural exploration of literature in the theory of affect and emotion as a specific psychological state of mind to produce work using embodied materiality. Paper becomes the metaphor to discuss research questions that connects the maternal with affect. Embodied materiality in my making is used as an investigation into the relationships between the affect of grief and the creative, that make embodied encounters with paper materials. Other materials I use are paper based clay and textiles to produce sculpture.
My work is exhibited nationally and internationally, recently work has been accepted at the International Paper Biennale, Shanghai, China and IBPFA,Taiwan.
