I am inspired by the rhythms of natural life cycles and gather plants to make a range of handmade textured papers, for making natural dyes for paper and fabric art works and to make woven basket structures.
I took part in Norfolk Open Studios for several years and offered workshops and talks on papermaking from plants, natural dyes and textile related subjects. I organised The Art and Soul of Paper in 2013 - a 6 week international paper exhibition in Norwich, UK, at 3 galleries with 56 contributing international artists including many IAPMA members.
Although I have not been actively making paper over the last few years for personal reasons I enjoyed the epic IAPMA tour of France (June 2016) led by Chantal Barre which was hugely informative and inspiring and the Sofia IAPMA Congress in 2018. I hope to attend the Congress in Japan 2020. I demonstrated plant papermaking at the Norfolk Contemporary Craft Society exhibition in Creake Abbey in North Norfolk.
I am planning a move to a bungalow with a larger garden so hopefully will be able to get creative again in the future.
