PAPER /UPCYCLE /RECYCLE ART / MUSKA (NUSKA)
Muska (Nuska), for centuries it was a carrier of a wish or protection against evil or illness in Asia. The wish, written on paper and folded in a triangle form, was covered with leather or wax. Already since my childhood, I got inspired by this old tradition. For our beautiful Earth, I made all these Muskas for the good wishes for our Universe, Nature, Human Rights and Animal rights. Each inside of Muska is written PEACE(Black), Happiness (White), Health (Red), Protect Nature (Yellow, Green) and continues many good wishes for our Universe. After writing text inside of paper, folding them in a triangle form, and stitching with silk thread, then cover it with wax. The last process is to combine them all together in one form.
TEA BAGS
The individual tea bag papers after their life function of giving color, smell and taste, will, after being dried and sewed together, forming a new kind of patchwork. At first it seems to be a carpet, a textile, a painting , two dimensional object. But soon afterwards the paper starts the create its own form, almost spontaneously, as if it takes over control, finding new forms of life and function. Weather a ball, a cube, a square or sphere, it becomes a three dimension self- forming object, a transmutation, constantly changing as life itself. In its lightness it is free and has no limitations in form nor in function.
