APRL always creates with intention. She either reconstructs or deconstructs a subject by observing formations and finding its core in recreating what she calls “silent pop geometric style” inspired by Pictorial Modernism, Japanese Graphic Design and almost anything in between. As an eclectic creative, she also explores paper engineering and woodblock printmaking.
Her dream has transformed from aspiring to be a doctor to a visual storyteller because of a life-changing eureka moment of self-discovery in her love for creating things.
From this, APRL merges practices from her Bachelor Degrees in Medical Technology (2015) and Visual Communication (2023). A reflection of her innate curiosity, keen eye for details, and playful experimentation in bringing ideas to life.
A Tail's Tale, her undergraduate thesis, is internationally recognized by the Movable Book Society as the winner of the Emerging Paper Engineer Prize.
APRL’s first wordless picture book, The Final Invention, is one of the recognized long listed projects of dPICTUS: The Unpublished Picture Book Showcase 4. She is a member of the Movable Book Society and The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
